The Rev. Emilie Smith

The Rev. Emilie Smith is a priest living as a Volunteer in Mission in Guatemala. She has 26 years of shared living with the people of Guatemala, and has been engaged in human rights witness, support of local communities, and resistance to Canadian mining industry' imposition on Maya sacred land. Ms. Smith is pursuing doctoral studies on martyrs and holy innocents in the Guatemala genocide, and Mayan concepts of death and non-death.
