Yes I'm looking forward to the next 10 years too and I'll be back in Hebron and East Jerusalem for 3 months every one of them while my legs will still take those steep hills..I've became especiallty engaged with the women of Sabeel and the women of Sheik Jarrah. The later are always threatened by house demolition and land loss by settlers, 4 families have already had their houses demolished and mostly live in tents. Also to the mothers always living under threat and arrest of their children in the old city of Hebron.Somehow I would like to form friendship groups of women who would support them to find justice.Maybe meal gatherings would be a start.
Thanks NIna - great to hear from you. I appreciate the invitation to regard meals as a time for sharing love, reconciliation, repentance and forgiveness... Your stint with the EPT in Hebron sounds amazing. I look forward to the next ten years and more! Maylanne.

Maylanne,I only just got to read this and I really enjoyed this celebration of your 60th year. What a wonderful way to keep up with well loved friends but also to demonstrate reconciliation.Having just come back from time on the Ecumenical Peacemaking team in Hebron(Al Khalel) and leaving behind dear friends both those living under such great oppression and occupation and those opposing it that even without such a special birthday I/we should have such meal gatherings around family tables to spread more love, reconciliation, repentance and forgiveness.I hope I am still around to read about what you do on the 10th year of your second life since I've already passed those milestones. Nina

So glad you wrote such a 60 year old memoir of this jubilee year. Now, if you'd come to Kaslo again, you'd be our dinner guest...such a pleasure it would be to welcome you. How good that you've lived long enough, & stopped working long enough to discover the joys of dinner parties prepared at your own table in your own home! And, such an inspiration indeed "Julia & Julie", which I so enjoyed...continuing the spirit of Babette's Feast...we participate in the kingdom among us at our table feasts!
